PPT Slide
— Produce a figure relative mesh for each figure and its exterior space
— Combine figure relative meshes to get a unified mesh
— A mapping between two m-reps is created using a landmark based warping algorithm
— Landmarks are chosen along “object lines” at points on surface and far from surface
— The mapping algorithm bends standard figure object lines to conform to the surface of the real figure
— Result: far from the object’s surface the tubes are straight and evenly spaced
Meshing the interior of a figure
— Space between four “object lines” defines a hexahedron
(For convex figures, extending these lines will mesh a figure’s exterior space.)
Meshing space outside a figure
— Generate a mesh for a standard, convex m-rep with the same topology as the real figure
— Establish a mapping between standard figure and real figure
Yellow lines outline top and bottom faces of a hexahedral element defined by the orange object lines.
Connecting Multiple Object Meshes 1) Compute a surface dividing the space between two figures
& clip tubes at this surface
2) Choose a M?N set of tubes to connect, and use the landmark based warping algorithm to bend tubes so their ends connect
3) Subdivide tubes into individual hexahedral elements
